The shutdown issue you are reporting might be due to mechanical issue with the valves. To test, I suggest that you try to turn off OpenSprinkler directly by switching off its power switch. Does the same issue happen? If so, that mean the issue has to do with the sprinkler valves (i.e. the way that they close under water pressure).
