mikeyrParticipantTwo problems I’d like collective wisdom on
1) when viewing the “time” on either android or on my laptop, the time on the controller (when viewed from status) is erratic (i have some video if anyone wants to see) It shows for example 9:01, 9:02, 9:03, 9:04 ….. 9:08 then jumps back to 9:04 …… it does this constantly. end result is the time can drift by up to 3 minutes and then suddenly jumps forward to around the right time? I think it contributed to some of my programs not triggering? I had “NTP” sync selected (which i think added to problem 2) but turned off this morning to see if it made any difference, it didn’t. The time on the LCD (while not showing seconds) seems to drift at the same amount as the web view, although i’ve not stared at it long enough to see it jump forward!!
Any thoughts or is this normal? Could this be why some of my programs didn’t trigger?
2) I have the unit connected to a router via cable, it constantly has the data light flashing, i mean constantly!! Was wondering if the erratic clock was making it poll??
Note the unit is a 2.1, a few months old and i updated the firmware yesterday to 2.1.2. Had thought the reason i had programs not triggering because i had “3” and maybe the 2.1.1 “3” bug was the issue. has the same symptoms under both firmware.
The unit is at my families holiday house so not able to watch it all the time.
Don’t seem to be generating any logs, not sure why that is but probably operator error!! I reread the manual on that bit
Many thanks for any help

Dan in CAParticipantMike,
The log problem may be solved. See this post:
https://opensprinkler.com/forums/topic/log-display/
I will look into the erratic time issue. It may have something to do with the nature of the Linux operating system.

mikeyrParticipantHi Dan,
Thanks, I may have posted in the wrong place, mine is an OSP which i purchased assembled (in Aus), not the Pi version. Which forum would be better for this?
Must admit to being a noob on OSP and not sure how to do the “git” update. I tried clearing the log yesterday using the android app and didn’t seem to make a difference. I’m not a complete tech luddite, pretty competent on android, flashing roms etc. Eager to learn as reckon it’s a great product!
I actually bought two, so am going to test out the other one tonight (which is for home) to see if i have the same clock symptoms
Cheers
Mike

Dan in CAParticipantMike,
If you have the micro-controller based OpenSprinkler you can click the support link at the top of the page for help on this.

mikeyrParticipantThanks, is there a forum for the microbased one?

RayKeymasterHi Mike, there is not a sub-forum for the microcontroller-based OpenSprinkler, because the root of the forum is supposed to be for microcontroller-based OpenSprinkler (so there are sub-forums for hardware / firmware questions). There are, on the other hand, sub-forums for OSPi and OSBo.
