New Product Alert! The OpenSprinkler Sensor Expander is our new product that adds 16 channels of analog sensor inputs to your OpenSprinkler v3 controller. It allows OpenSprinkler to interface with a wide variety of external sensors (e.g. temperature, soil moisture, humidity, light, water level) and automatically adjust your programmed water times based on real-world conditions. Key Features:
  • 16-channel analog inputs, implemented using four ADS1115 high-precision ADCs.
  • Dual Voltage Support: the board provides both 5V and 3.3V to support a wide range of sensors.
  • Easy Expansion: Plugs directly into OpenSprinkler’s Zone Expander connector, and works either standalone or alongside your existing Zone Expanders.
  • On-board 1-Wire Master Controller: for future support of 1-Wire sensors (e.g. DS18B20 temperature probe).
Compatibility:
  • Compatible with OpenSprinkler v3 family: v3.0-v3.4.
  • Requires Firmware 2.2.1(5) (to be released soon)
  • NOT compatible with OpenSprinkler v2.3 and OSPi. However, recent versions of OSPi (v1.5 and v2.0) feature two on-board ADS1115 chips, providing 8 channels of analog inputs out of the box when updated to firmware 2.2.1(5).
