CharlesParticipantHowdy,
I looked around the forum, the manual and some good ole Google searches but can’t find what I’m looking for.
How do I know which Station is mapped to which Zone? Is it just by the order on the Station page? I’m assuming that’s it and naming them “1 – Drip – Master”, “2 – Patio”, etc. based on the “S0x” of the default settings. But I’ll forget or mess this up at some point.
Thanks!

ShawnHarteParticipantZone / station mapping is entirely dependent upon how you wired the valves. You could wire them in any order you’d like, run them manually to see which station starts and name accordingly if you don’t care about the order in which they run. If order matters run them all manually and switch the wiring around, then name them according to the order you put them in.
There is no ‘rule’ for wiring valves other than the common wire, which is why google won’t help you. No one else will know what ‘you want.’
If you have a master station find that wire and put it anywhere you want then set it as a master station. After that follow the procedure above.

CharlesParticipantThanks. This is what I’m trying to avoid, though:
“run them manually to see which station starts and name accordingly if you donโt care about the order in which they run. ”
That is, while I”m in the Station popup it doesn’t indicate “this is Zone 2”. What Stations go to what physical zone wire connection? It seems like what you’re suggesting is find-n-seek.
Maybe I don’t understand what you’re suggesting.
Thanks again.

insight3flParticipantThe zones are numbered on the enclosure…..1-8. Those numbers correspond to the zones on the OP interface. So just look and see which zones you hooked up to which number. Pretty simple?

RayKeymaster@Charles: if you meant the mapping between the logic name of a station vs. the physical station, that depends on the wiring. In the program, station 1 refers to the first station (labeled 1) on the controller, and so on. You can give each station an easy-to-remember name and that name will be displayed on all pages (instead of using numbers).

CharlesParticipantThanks, that’s what I meant. I figured it out anyway. I think a nice-to-have feature is to have that information in the Station Name pop up. <whine-n-moan>So I don’t have to taint my station names with x, x+1,…<\whine-n-moan>. ๐
I couldn’t derive the mapping from the JSON config export. Is it just the order they are listed? For example, the “snames” tag:
“snames”:[
“Drip-Master”,
“Drip-East”,
“Drip-Aspen Bed”,
…
Would be physical stations:
1 – “Drip-Master”,
2 – “Drip-East”,
3 – “Drip-Aspen Bed”,
n+1
…I didn’t do a quick crash course in JSON before posting. ๐
Thanks!
