Attempting to get OpenSprinklerpi working on a Pi Zero.
-Installed raspbian jessie lite version
-successfully got wifi working and able to ssh to my pi zero
-follow these instructions:https://opensprinkler.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000631599-installing-and-updating-the-unified-firmware
to install the unified firmware. Unfortunately unable to see the welcome page at the local ip address of the pi. I know the pi is connected to the network as I can ssh tod it. What is wrong here?
Which port are you hitting? Can you provide the full URL you are using?
Also, can you start OpenSprinkler manually and see if it outputs anything to the console?
I’m hitting port 8080. How would I start it manually? I selected yes for loading at startup during the setup script.
So I can now access the website at 8080 and I see the login page. The setup mentions a “welcome page” with further instructions as well as info on the other programs:
“The two alternative firmwares are the Python Interval Program (written by Dan Kimberling) and the
sprinklers_pi program (written by Rich Zimmerman). The welcome page (see above) has instructions on
how to install and run these firmwares”
I see no reference to this once I have access to the web UI. I logged in and I can control valves etc but no reference to the “futher instructions” or other programs. where is information on these?
The ‘welcome’ page is only available if you use the pre-configured SD card image (which unfortunately hasn’t been updated to the latest Raspbian image and hence doesn’t support RPi zero yet). But the ‘welcome’ page just explains how to set up WiFi, how to access the firmware etc. Since you can already access the firmware, the welcome instructions aren’t that useful to you so you can ignore it.
