I have an opensprinkler v2.3 AC I bought last year. I’ve been using it for about 6 months to control around 7 valves. Recently at least one of the valves wasn’t working and I debugged it down to the controller not putting out the correct voltage on that pin. Opening it up it looks fried. Do you know what could cause this? If the irrigation wiring short circuits will it fry itself like this?

The enclosure I have it in and its own enclosure seem pretty clean of dust and water but its possible condensation got inside the board but the board looks really clean except for the burnout.

    Tried to attach pics.

    Thanks,

    – Ian

I’m also using an old Hunter PRO C transformer which lists 24vac at 1.25 amps.

Possible some kind of high voltage spike. If you submit a support ticket we can arranged for it to be replaced or repaired. It’s fairly easy to replace the triac.
