Do you need to operate OpenSprinkler where there is no power and ethernet?
With OpenSprikler Solar you can!
I started with the idea to Port the version of Opensprikler 2.16 working on Esp8266 to OS Bee 2.0.
I needed a HW prototype based on Esp8266 and capable to drive Self Latching Valve’s and using a Oled 128×64 LCd
Building this unit, since all the components have a reduced power drain, I came across with the idea of building a fully autonomous device.
I experimented with different batteries capacity and solar panel powers:
At the end a 3.7v Lipo with 5000mAh and
A Solar panel of 5w
where my best choice in term of cost and dimensions.
Since I am a noob in electronics, I have chosen to build this unit using breakout boards easily available over the web with a total cost of about 30$.
