Hi! Just installed OSBEE and works well with my non-latching 24VAC solenoids. Question is, can I connect the 3-zone OSBEE directly over the existing controller without worry that the 24VAC coming from the AC transformer will somehow destroy the OSBEE? Ideally, I’d like to keep both systems as the original is simple to use and is good as backup. Guess I could simply switch via relays…Thanks!
I would not recommend you to do that, because the way OSBee works is very different from standard 24VAC controller. OSBee uses a boost converter circuit and it outputs completely DC voltage. If you connect it in parallel to a 24VAC controller, I am worried that it can damage OSBee.
