    Hi,

when I connect the jumper for non-latching mode and restart the opensprinkler Bee and Bee does not start any more. The Bee is requesting power of 2A and then the powerbank is direktly flat. If I direklty connect the USB to a PC, the PC is turing of the USB port since to much power is requested. Do I need a special power unit to use the Bee in non-latching mode?

    Best,

It shouldn’t draw this much current. I think some MOSFET on the board is probably burned for some reason. You should submit a support ticket.

By the way, if you plan to use OpenSprinkler for non-latching valves, you should consider OpenSprinkler 3.0, now that it’s available. OSBee is primarily designed for latching valves, and is not expandable. OpenSprinkler 3.0 uses the same ESP8266 chip and same OLED display, much more powerful and expandable.

    Thanks for the answer.
Where can I submit a support ticket?
I selected the OSBee, since I cannot connect directly to power. I thought OSBee is the only one working with a power bank.

OpenSprinkler DC can also work with battery. Neither OpenSprinkler DC nor OpenSprinkler Bee can work with battery persistently without charging — the WiFi chip is quite power consuming and eventually you will have to charge the battery, commonly through solar charging.

Scroll to the top of this page and click ‘Support’ to submit a support ticket.
