    Hi,
I noticed component JP1 on OS32_Master, the 2×04 connector does not have a symmetrical pin layout. Is this a manufacturing trick to hold the header in the holes during assembly, or is it a mistake in the footprint layout? The corresponding connector on dcdr_3.2 is the same.

OS31 which has a 2×06 connector is symmetrical.

I assume the connector still fits ok as the difference is quite small and I assume the v3.2 boards are currently in production??

    Cheers

Yes, this is a small trick to mis-align the pins a bit so that it’s easy to hold the pin header in place without falling down during soldering. It’s not necessary and the factory doesn’t actually need it after all.

Thanks for the reply Ray. Yes, just as I thought. I guess the ‘tight’ fit could help if the board had to go through a wave solder process and keep the header from tilting.
    Cheers
