Ethernet Module Cable Orientation

I have a question on whether the Ethernet module cable can be reversed (ether module side connected to OS). I will not be using the OS standard enclosure. Looking at the IDC connectors on end with both alignment protruding part pointing to the left the purple cable is on the top. So in my mind the cable can be reversed from whats stated in the instructions but I don’t have experience with these connectors. I’m just not sure if it’s orientated the way it is so it works with the enclosure or if it’s orientated that way for it to function. Having the cable reversed allows the Ethernet module fit better for my custom enclosure.
