I have a situation where I need to have multiple controllers. I am adding several zones to the other side of my yard, and I don’t have enough wires run to control the additional stations. Since it is quite a long distance to add additional wires I would like to use a second controller. My question is can the two controllers share a combined schedule? I don’t ever want both controllers to call for water at the same time since the water supply is not large enough to handle it. So I kind of want the second controller to act as a zone extension board if that make sense. Can the firmware do this?

This is exactly what the ‘master-remote’ controller feature of OpenSprinkler is for. You designate one controller as a master controller, the other as a remote controller. This way, zones physically connected to the remote controller can appear as logical zones on the master controller, so all zones can be controlled and programmed on the master controller. The OpenSprinkler user manual explains how to do so:

    Search “remote station”.

Thanks! That is exactly what I want. Off to the shopping cart.
