[Not quite sure where to post this topic]

Now we need city water again for our plants in Dallas I dusted off the controller.
I have the arduino opensprinkler running 2.1.5 which I flashed yesterday. On rebooting I was overjoyed that the correct date & time was plucked from the internet, but alas less than 24 hours later and the time is already 30 minutes behind actual time.

I only see a manual update option. Is there no automatic date/time update built into 2.1.5?

    Thanks
Ps. 2.1.5 was a huge jump in features and UI. The android app seems to work great.

The controller is set to perform NTP sync every 24 hours. Are you consistently seeing 30 minutes delay in time, or does it change over time?

    Ray,
It seems to be stuck exactly 30 minutes behind current time.

I just tried to reset it manually via android app, but did not save.

If it stays 30 minutes behind the programs as I have them will work just fine. However as a geek, this is a most intriguing issue!

What location are you using? I’m wondering if it’s a timezone issue as some time zones can have a 30 minutes difference.

Do you see the drifting occurring or is it immediately 30 minutes behind after a reset etc?

The manual settings appear to have been applied and the time is correct with my manual update.
I’ll monitor the time over the weekend.

The timezone is greyed out and shows -05:00, which for summer time I
believe is correct. I’m on Central Time
My location is Allen, Texas, selected from the suggestions.

The time seems to be now running a few seconds fast each day. Overall it is now 5 minutes fast. No biggie, I can work with that variance.

5 minutes faster seems quite off. It also seems to indicate the firmware is not getting NTP sync correctly. First, check if your ‘NTP Sync’ option is checked; next, does your controller have access to the Internet? Without Internet access it can’t sync with NTP server properly.
