Hi,
I’m looking at purchasing a OSPi. I’ve been thinking about building a system from scratch, but i think ospi will do the trick instead.
I’d like some feedback if i’m going about it the right way.
For our setup, We have a small garden (8×10) in our backyard. We mostly tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and herbs in it. (Depending on the year). We also have a small grassed area, which i think can be covered in one zone (20×25?). I have 1 15amp outlet outside, and for water supply, I have a two way manual valve connected to the tap. My one limitation is a hot tub that feeds off the one outlets, so I’m limited to power.
I’d like to be able to water the grass with one zone, and the garden with the other. I’d also like to be able to monitor the moisture in the soil, using either diy sensors or whatever i can find. Finally, I’d like have a small weather station, monitor the temperature and humidity and track it using the pi. I have all ready purchased a dht-11 and rainsensor.
Around the house, I have ardunio, raspberry pi, some old x10 stuff, 433Mhz tx/rx modules and a semi-working galaxy s2 that I can hack around with.
Is the OSPI a good fit? Is it possible to hack in an arduino as a remote sensor?
