Maintain Same IP address through update

Hello,

Is there a way to ensure OS has the same IP address after an update as it did before the update or factory reset? I’m hoping to not setup remote access after an update solely because the IP address changed. Is that something that can be done in OS or has to be through the internet router? If so any tips would be helpful.

I use DHCP reservations in my router to get IP addresses for most devices on my network.
