Greetings, I am using an opensprinkler to power a relay that supplies a plug in AC adapter. My intent is to use OpenSprikler to turn on/off my AC irrigation/sump pump that’s powered using a 5v DC relay. I am using a 24v to 5v DC buck converter to connect the two devices. I first tested the DC relay with my Arduino with no issues turning the relay on/off using the 5v GPIO pin. I am able to turn on my relay with Opensprinker but when the time counts to 0 it does not power off the circuit unless I disconnect power. I am using an AC power adapter and I have a screenshot on how I have things wired.

Happy to provide more comments/details. This solution will save so many hours for me and I am driven to do what I can to get this to work!

Observation – I am seeing that I am able to successfully power my relay on/off if I set the duration for 1 second. Any more time added and the relay will not shut off at the end of a cycle.

Running 3.3 v2.2.1, forgot to mention that

We’ve communicated via support ticket. As a short summary:
    1) The symptom of zones only turning on but not able to turn off is usually due to using a DC power adapter on a AC-powered OpenSprinkler. Due to the way the AC solenoid driver (triac) works, running DC current through it will prevent it from turning off successfully.
    2) If the input power adapter is indeed AC, then this must have to do with the 24V to 5V buck converter. From the picture this looks like a buck converter that accepts DC voltage and not AC. So likely this won’t work with an AC-powered controller.
    3) If your goal is to be able to control a relay, a better solution that involve no wiring and no messing with high voltage is to use an RF toy and an off-the-shelf RF wireless power socket. This is the so called ‘RF station’ feature available in the OpenSprinkler firmware since a few years ago. It’s described in this blog post:
