    All,

I’ve had a Opensprinkler DC for a few years now, and a month ago the switch mode power supply (12v) died, so i installed a new power supply. Then a week later, the system does not boot. So i tried another power supply, which is producing 12V when not plugged into the OS board, however as soon as i plug it in, i can only measure 0.7V DV at the pins of the power input plug – obviously it does not power up with this voltage.

So there appears to be a component that is killing the power supply – would it be worth replacing the 7805 voltage regulator? Or any other ideas for what might be the issue.

    Thanks

    Rob

You can replace the 7805 regulator and see if it works. It may have overheated and broken down.
