The input and output capacitors values and the inductance value have changed over time (e.g V1.3 -> V.1.43+).
Is this due to components availability or have you had problems with the previous designs?
Have you tried smaller values?
(According to Webench design tool from TI, which calculates the LM2596 components, you could for example use only an input capacitor 2.2uF and an ouptut capacitor of 4.7uF. These are particularly picked to meet the RMS current ratings or low ESR requirements defined in the datasheet. I think a 220uF input capacitor would steel be needed for smoothing but maybe the output 100uF can be droped… Unfortunatelly their online simulation doesn’t work.)
I’m trying to reduce somehow the whole footprint of the power supply. Thanks.
