I just got my OpenPi and it looks great.
Issue for me at this time is the power supply.
At my local electronics stores they sell a standard looking item that is 24v AC 1Amp but (after I bought it found out) it’s unregulated.
Unloaded I measured 55v from the unit which is higher than I read in your docs (up to 30v is ok?)
Finding a regulated one seems to be limited so hoping to get your feedback on using the above unit, adding a regulator (if that is easier) or just biting the bullet and buying another on ebay and waiting.?

Thanks in advance and look forward to getting this up and active in our new garden.

Many AC transformers are unregulated. 55V seems really high. Are you sure you are measuring AC voltage, not DC? If you happen to use the DC level on your multimeter to measure AC, you will be surprised to find some strange result. 30V AC should be ok.

Where are you located? If you are in the US, you can buy sprinkler transformers from Amazon.com or at local home improvement stores.

    Thanks.
Yeah my (quite new) multimeter only has one voltage setting and automatically selected AC for the reading, 55 was high and I took it back. Waiting on a replacement (purpose made for irrigation P/S) later this week to come into stock.

Also I am in Australia. The irrigation systems (timers) are not uncommon in our hardware stores but they dont have the P/S separate. I went to a plumbing/irrigation specialist here (Reece) and they are getting me a p/s in for me and also helped me a lot with tubing/drip/nozzle selections.
