Raspberry Pi Crashes with OSPi Schedule

Hi All,

I have setup my OSPi v1.4 with a raspberry pi and am having problems with the raspberry pi crashing at the start of scheduled water times. I have 2 sprinklers hooked up to the system, and when I use manual mode I can turn these on/off and leave watering with no problems. I only encounter this issue when scheduling the jobs.

I was originally running Pidora; but am now using the pre-configured SD card (I have updated the OS & OSPi packages) and an alternate Raspberry pi board to rule out the OS or hardware (at least the Pi)…still same issue.

Config summary:-

• Raspi Model B
• OSPi v1.4 board
• Running pre-configured sd card (raspbian + OSPI software) with all latest updates applied to OS and software
• This power supply: http://openlab.com.au/shop/24-volt-ac-mains-adapter/

Any thoughts?….

After finally getting some time to try and troubleshoot the issue, it looks like the issue might be WiFi not reconnecting. I’m trying out this solution to turn off powersaving and also to force reconnect of wireless interface if it loses connection: http://itsbrent.net/2014/05/fixing-raspberry-pi-wifi-dropping/

Had a similar problem when using wifi. In the end I ended going wired and haven’t had a days problem.

 

Never did figure out what the issue was with the wifi.

I can confirm that the linked fixes resolved my issues. My ospi has been happily running for a week now, highly recommend applying these fixes if your using wifi with raspberry pi.
