riverracerParticipantOpensprinkler 3.2 AC version was running the latest software before the new release.
Have a problem with my OS that i’ve had running since April 2020.
Went to check on it as my phone had an app update, then had a msg pop up saying there was a controller firmware available.
Then noticed that the controller unit it’s self was not working when I couldn’t log in.
Checked the power point, was ok, then checked the 24v plug in transformer and found it was not working.
I have tried 2 other good transformers, but no luck, it still wont work/power on.
Is it possible that the transformer went bad and took the “Ac Driver Board” with it?Is it as simple as just replacing the “Ac Driver Board” or am I better off buying a new controller?
What would shipping to Australia be on just a board and or a new unit be?

RayKeymasterFrom the picture you attached, I can’t see any obvious damage so it’s hard to tell. If could be that the LCD screen has gone bad and needs a replacement. If you have a multimeter, here are some steps you can start with:
On the AC driver (bottom) board, check the resistance between VIN(+5V) and GND. These two pins are located at the top-right corner, in the 2×4 pin area, the 2 pins on the first column. Multimeter’s black probe on GND, red probe on VIN(+5V). The resistance may fluctuate a bit but should be 4.5kohm or above. If it’s significantly smaller than 4.5K, something is wrong. If it passed the test, likely the driver board is still fine. You can buy driver board directly:
https://opensprinkler.com/product/opensprinkler-replacement-boards/If you don’t mind staying with v3.2/v3.3, you can just buy replacement board, it’s way cheaper than buying a completely new controller.

riverracerParticipantReplaced the lcd screen couple of years ago when it went blank but OS still worked via wifi.
Tried a 2nd screen that I had lying around from an Arduino kit, no display either.
Still no connection wia wifi either.Measured with 2 different multi-meters and got 0.4-0.6ohm readings, way below what you mentioned.

riverracerParticipantI decided to buy a new unit rather than replacing the board/s.
If I purchased the 2 boards, 90$ + shipping to Australia, it wasn’t much more to just buy a new controller.
And it’s cheaper to buy from you in the US than it is to buy from the local Australian distributor.
Maybe later I can look at fixing this one, but got so much on lately I just don’t have the time at the moment.
Just hope it fits my outdoor enclosure….

RayKeymasterOK, thanks for ordering a new controller. I will make a note to include a replacement board in the package, that way, you may be able to resurrect your current controller and keep it as a backup.

RayKeymasterOh, that’s weird. I did mark your order to include the replacement boards. Possibly the shipping software didn’t update to retrieve the order info. In any case, we can still ship the replacement boards separately. Sorry about the issue.
