Zone 1 is always on

I’ve new to OpenSprinkler (just received my OS hardware last week), but I seems that after wifi setup & wiring in my valves, that zone 1 on my hardware is always sending 12v out, even without anything connected (checked with a multimeter).

I’ve tried two different power supplies with the same outcome (12v 4A & 12v 2A). I’ve also tried the same valve on other zones and it appears that the other 7 zones work correctly (0v when not in use, 12v when activated).

12v is active on zone 1, whether wiring is connected or not.
If I activate zone 1 in the app, it changes from 12v to ~21v and slowly decreases over a couple of minutes to 12v again.

Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone have any troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue? Have I received faulty hardware? As it stands, I can only use 7 of the 8 zones on this device
