I can confirm that the linked fixes resolved my issues. My ospi has been happily running for a week now, highly recommend applying these fixes if your using wifi with raspberry pi.

Thanks Dan,

I’ll give it a look and provide you feedback on anything I need. I’d agree with Mike that some basic info and tips would be useful for getting started…maybe you can link to some existing stuff out on the web rather than re-write the book on getting started with Python.

After finally getting some time to try and troubleshoot the issue, it looks like the issue might be WiFi not reconnecting. I’m trying out this solution to turn off powersaving and also to force reconnect of wireless interface if it loses connection: http://itsbrent.net/2014/05/fixing-raspberry-pi-wifi-dropping/
