Running an ethernet cable through my garden is the thing I was trying to avoid with the OSPi.

It’s not just the WiFi, my experience is that the RPi platform ins’t very reliable and thus not suitable for these use cases.

Instead of a lot of work I think I will replace the OSPi with a multi-channel RF control switch and pair it with my current openHAB setup.
