    I’ve searched through the forum for a bit but haven’t found anything that addresses initial setup of the android (or web) app with a non-local OSPi. I’ve got a URL (http://ospi.dynalias.net/) which works fine from my browser but I can’t seem to get the apps to connect. I enter “OSPi” as the Open Sprinkler Name, “ospi.dynalias.net” as the Open Sprinkler IP, and my ospi password…press Submit… and get “Check IP/Port and try again.”

    If I’m at home and have the app scan for the device, it does find it…and it seems to work. But I can’t get it working using my dynalias URL.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

    Dave

    Can you connect using the OSPi.dynalias.net when you are using the 3G network?

    The router might not allow NAT loopback which essentially blocks you from using your WAN IP inside your LAN.

    No – I get the same (to me!) result with the wifi on (through my router) or off (3G).

    I am pretty sure your dynamic DNS is injecting content into the reply. This is the HTML body I am seeing when requesting data from the IP you provided:

    <frame src="http://aklas.mine.nu:9332/jo" name="redir_frame" frameborder="0"
    scrolling="auto" noresize="noresize" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0"/>

    Sorry, your browser does not support frames. Please go to http://aklas.mine.nu:9332/jo.

    Hmm. I thought the apps had been setup to use aliasing through dyn.com. Is that not the case? Did you try using a browser to access the site – did that work ok for you?
