I’ve found posts that talk about the 644 controller and sdcard. I can’t find anything that actually tells me what I will notice as a difference. I have an old 1.42u that I need to repair but if the 2.x version is better I might as well just buy that. Trouble is, I don’t know what improvements other than part types I would see. Wiki is empty.
The hardware upgrade notes are usually published in the Github repository:

Click on each version and you should see a README file that explains the difference from the previous version.
