I see photos of OpenSprinkler v2.0s (SMT) with MOVs attached at each output triac. I also see the MOVs sold separately, and the description states that the SMT board has holes for the MOVs. I live in an area with occasional lighning strikes and have lost equipment due to those strikes. If the SMT board does not come with MOVs attached, I want to order a set to attach. Let em know if the SMT board includes MOVs.
Sorry about the lack of clarity: we’ve already started shipping OpenSprinkler v2.1 which has on-board per-channel TVS (transient voltage supressor) for protection against transient high voltages. So you do NOT need to purchase MOVs separately. All orders of OpenSprinkler 2.0 will receive version 2.1. I haven’t had time to change the webpage yet, which should be done within the next few days.
