Esp12N replacement with Esp12E

I am being told that the ESP12N is no longer available but I can get the esp12E

Google tells me they should be compatible if I’m not using the bottom row signals, which are not used in OS.

Has anyone tried this or know of any issues or concerns for the open sprinkler implementation?

They are completely compatible.

Thanks. It seems like the 12 F might be a better choice since the E is less quality antenna. Any concerns?
