    Hi Ray,

A feature request I’d love is the ability to add an SSL Certificate to my OpenSprinkler so my login URL can be https://opensprikler.mydomain.com

I currently have a DNS record set for my OpenSprinkler, and have chosen port 8443, but as there is no actual certificate, it’s not encrypted. Using a Certificate Authority such as Let’s Encrypt and add whatever code to the OpenSprinkler to auto update certificates before they expire would be fabulous.

    Hi Ray,

I never had a response to this request. Is this something that could be added in a future update do you think?

    Thanks

While this should be possible for OSPi, it’s not possible for OpenSprinkler 3.x — the ESP8266 WiFi chip does not have enough computation power to make an efficient secure server.
