Hey guys.
I am searching for help here since this problem is Opensprinkler HW related and might help somebody else as well.
I have bought opensprinkler “clone” HW 2 or 3 years ago, it was working fine, but recent issues with weather module and networking forced me to upgrade the firmware.
So I did as usual, connected USB etc. and executed:
avrdude.exe -c arduino -p m1284p -P COM5 -U flash:w:os_220_rev2.bin – please note that BIN instead of HEX (realized it in the same second as I hit enter).
And thats it where it all begins. Now I am getting avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00 or something similar.
What to do here? I’d like to use it moving forward but don’t want to spend too much time (eg. soldering needed etc.).

firmware running (before upgrade) 2.1.9 (9)
App Version: 2.3.1 whatever it is 🙂
