    Dear all,

I have recently purchased the OpenSprinkler controller and noted there is an option for a flow rate sensor.
I have a master valve in the cellar and also a flow rate sensor.
Both are available via MQTT only, not by physical wire connection, to the OpenSprinkler unit.
Is there a way to input the flow rate from MQTT?
For the master valve I will setup a seperate zone , link it as master in OS and use it’s MQTT output to actually toggle the valve in my cellar.

Would you recommend doing it differently?

    Thank you,
    Best regards,
    Lenny

Hi, can you clarify what you intend to use the flow rate sensor for? The current OpenSprinkler firmware does NOT use flow rate for triggering any actions (i.e. stop a zone from running) – it merely displays the flow rate, logs it, and can send alert if flow rate is above a certain threshold. If your flow sensor is already connected to MQTT, I assume you can display and log the data via MQTT server directly. SO I am not sure why you want that data to be relayed to OpenSprinkler?

    Hi Ray,
The intent was to make sure the device has all necessary information. I would assume the water level parameter needs such an input. That’s why I was wondering if it was possible to do so. However as you say, if not, purely to display the information I can indeed do that from my own setup.
But thanks for your answer anyway.

    Best regards,
    Lenny
