    Ok.. So this OS device has been disconnected from the network for a few years (long story) but plugged in the entire time. I recently got it back on wifi and updated the firmware (as of about a month ago). However, frequently when I’m out in the garage trying to use the mobile app it has a difficult time connecting.. Like right now as I write this it’s dropping on/off from both the cloud but also seemingly from the network as well. The wifi access point is about 35 ft from the device and I’m not sure it’s super happy. In the distant past the WAP was much closer by probably 15′ or so.

    Is there any wisdom on how to fix this aside from adding another access point or moving it? I’ve tried increasing the power on the WAP but it doesn’t appear to have much impact. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Right now I’ve got my WAP (which the diags says is “poor”) set to “high” power and if I set it to medium power level then the OpenSprinkler diagnostics page indicates that the wifi is “unusable”

    I guess another option would be to hardwire it and avoid wifi completely..? Is that possible on older hardware?

    My hardware version is 3.2-AC, firmware is 2.2.1 (2), app version 2.4.86

    I should note that it seems to be somewhat better behaved with the high-power WIFI radio setting. But I can certainly hard-wire this thing if needed and if it’s possible on the older hardware.

    Just a followup.. I ordered the ethernet module today for my older unit and even though it’s not the fastest thing on the planet — at least it’ll be more stable for my needs and should be better way to go in my situation..
