More than 2 master zones

I’m using OpenSprinkler for an indoor cannabis grow, and we love it. Thank you for creating this great product. There are just a couple things I wish we could change. I’m not sure if this might be possible to implement in a future update, or if I could pay someone to modify the firmware for me?

The first item is simple, I would like to have 4 master zones instead of the current 2.

The other thing is I would like to be able to manually start a program while another program is currently running. We can manually start multiple zones individually and they queue up or run simultaneously depending on their sequential group (this works great). But if we manually start a program, and then try to manually start another program (consisting of zones with a different sequential group from the first program), it won’t go. This seems to me like it would be an easy fix?

+1 i would love both of these features. Having only 2 masters is annoying software limitation that requires me to work-around using additional wiring

1) Adding additional master zones is possible — the firmware side change is simple but it does also require a fair amount of UI changes. This is on our todo list and we will try to implement it asap.

2) The second feature requested above is already implemented in firmware 2.2.1(4). Please check the list of new features of this firmware:

If your controller is not already on this firmware, just update it.

The feature is being prepared in the upcoming new firmware:

There is still a lot of work to do before we release the firmware as it has some major new features that need to be fully tested. Frankly we are using gen AI (e.g. Claude Code) to implement a lot of new features. So if you need the feature urgently, you can use AI to implement it yourself.

I was able to modify the firmware using claude and achieve the 4 master zones. Granted the UI doesn’t recognize them as master zones, I assigned stations using http requests and everything seems to be working good. This will allow me to remove a few dozen relays and terminal blocks from my control panel which will be nice to get some room for upcoming additions. Looking forward to the update.
