We use Opensprinkler for a hydroponic ebb and flow system. The unit opens valves and the pump delivers water to the proper tray. I’d like to find a way to get a notification if the water flow fails. This happens if the pump fails or if someone turns off the stations (for cleaning) and forgets to turn it back on. Could I connect a flow sensor and get notified if no flow is detected after a certain time interval. Any other ideas? Thank you.

Yes you can connect a flow sensor to OpenSprinkler. However, the firmware currently only supports ‘overflow’ alert and not ‘underflow’ alert. There is a thread on the firmware github that discusses ‘no flow’ alert:
    https://github.com/OpenSprinkler/OpenSprinkler-Firmware/issues/338
it contains suggestions about how to change the firmware code to implement it. We do plan to integrate the feature to the firmware in the future, but at the moment it’s low priority on our todo list.

You could probably set something up in Home Assistant. There is a good HA integration for Opensprinkler, and you can set alerts for conditions.
