Open sprinkler dc expansion board with irrigation caddy.

Dear All,

As the subject line says I am looking at operating my irrigation caddy with 24vdc valves. In the past I have replaced the triacs with transistors in the irrigation caddy and this has worked well. I would now like to expand the amount of zones and was wondering if the expansion board would be compatible with the irrigation caddy hardware. They are very limited and only supply ac expansion boards and I do not want to go through the soldering process again as it was a bit messy.

I don’t know how irrigation caddy’s main controller communicates with its expansion board, or whether it’s compatible with how opensprinkler’s expansion board works. Generally the other commercial products don’t publish such details so you have to do some reverse engineering to find out.
