I have an Open Sprinkler Latch hooked up to a Hunter 9v latching solenoid. It had been working fine since I hooked it up, but now there is a problem. The Open Sprinkler Latch program is running according to the software scedule appropriately, but when it triggers to turn on, it is providing 0 mA of current to the circuit and does not triggering the solenoid. I’ve tested the wiring, the solenoid, and the plumbing. I used a 9v battery and the solenoid turns on and off the sprinklers manually by triggering it from the the wire leads that attach to the Open Sprinkler Latch. The problem is coming from the Open Sprinkler. For whatever reason it is supplying 0 mA of current. In the options/advanced I have Latch On/Off Voltage set to 9V. I don’t see any setting for amperage.

The latch controller always shows 0mA because latching valves don’t draw current at steady state. They only draw impulse currents very briefly, less than 100 millisecond when opening or closing.

So what are your recommendations for troubleshooting your product (Open Sprinkler Latch)? Your product has power (9V DC). I can log into it through the web interface over the router. The timer is running and triggering at the appropriate time via software which is visible in the logs. It was working for the past month and a half or so and now it is not. On the other end the sprinkler wire that leads to solenoid is good, the circuit is complete, the wires are tightly attached to your unit (black to common and red to station 1), the solenoid works when tested independently of your unit with 9v DC battery touched to the wires that would attach to the base of your unit, and all plumbing works. You’re product is in the middle of working power and working sprinkler wire connected to a working solenoid and plumbing, and your software is behaving as expected as far as the timer is concerned, but not opening and closing the latching solenoid. Any ideas to trouble shoot it or do you want to send a new unit to replace it under the warranty?
