I think you are exactly right (the backup was bad). I want to add file support but making it work across all platforms is impossible. How about this: for devices supporting files use that instead of email but fallback to email when device unsupported. Also, I will add an import file button next to the import config button (like export) when files are supported. I will try to get around to this very soon as I understand having a file is much better, when possible.

Is there a reason your app is so far behind (1.1.6 beta)?

    Thanks!

Update: Also for the logging, I just checked and mine work fine and also show previous logs. I think I know the issue and it’s related to your station count. I assume your logs have 24 stations and currently your controller was only reporting 8. Basically, the program only gets station IDs from the controller and it uses your current station names to re-map them. If you decrease your station count, then all stations above the current count won’t be shown.

Makes sense. . .or allow for pasting copied email config backup. . .then you could use that across all platforms. . .? I installed 1.1.6beta back when you were first testing some issues with manual control. I just don’t get to updating my apps constantly. . .if I don’t notice any problems, why upgrade. Also, the problems that appeared in 1.1.7 and 1.1.8 in connection with 2.0.8 kept me from wanting to upgrade as well.

I think you are correct about the logs. . .all my active stations are above 8, so that would be why I only saw a couple stations I had tested on and the rain sensor (which i don’t have).

The copy-paste isn’t a bad idea either and I will look into it, thanks!

The app didn’t have any real issues at 1.1.7 or 1.1.8 (however 1.1.9 has a copy program bug that I am about to push a fix for). Anyways, wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything specific. Thanks!

Each, I noticed the copy bug last night as well, wouldn’t allow save, but so many things were strange, I didn’t report it yet. Was also coding an attempt at automating downloading the firmware updates.

Ya pretty rookie mistake 😛 Live and learn I guess…

It’s fixed now and 1.2.0 will come out to address it tonight. I also am fixing a bug with the tap and hold mechanism of the duration popup inputs. I added it in 1.1.9 but realized Android has a bug in the touch events. Regardless, it’ll be fixed ASAP.

    Thanks!

You definitely keep those versions rolling out quickly!

Have been meaning to comment on the new duration dialog. Not much fun to use on my phone. I would much rather have a submit button than just clicking off window. I definitely don’t miss the sliders though. They were too easy to adjust accidentally. Haven’t tried 1.1.9 on iPhone yet since it wasn’t released so not sure how the tap and hold works. Spinners like with the date might be nicer if that was an option.

I can add back a submit button for sure. I just thought it was bulky and I also made the popups live update the button. So as you change, the button value is perm changed behind you (in case it accidentally closes). But it is very easy to add this back in and will.

    Haha no one does!

The problem with the iOS spinner is it’s iOS only. The date input needs a lot of help and I also wanna fix the other input (minutes/seconds/etc). But won’t be in the next one.

Unfortunately, I can’t get a complete restore from any of 4 backups on various devices. Looks like I can’t get all my programs to restore. I should have 8 and it looks like I am only getting 6 with the latest restore? Not sure if it is specifically 2.0.9, but suspicious since the various client versions have all had trouble. I guess I will see if it work when back on 2.0.8 or 7. Btw, osx client only finding 1.1.6 available and it lost its config on exit. Had to scan again and then no backup file left either ? Anything to try before downgrading?

Btw, preview still opening wrong day. Maybe timezone related?

Btw. Restore on 2.0.8 worked the first time. My station names no longer have spaces.

Do you mind sending me your export via email? I can try to identify an issue that way.

This is a bug in 1.1.6 for OSX that I fixed but Apple won’t even review the app. I don’t get why they have an App Store. I can provide a DMG if people prefer.

Sure. Will send via email. DMG fine with me.

    My email is [email protected].

I will package up a DMG and get that out with the next release.

    Thank you!

Able to recreate it but I can confirm your data is perfectly in tact.

The issue is the lag time it takes to save the program data to EEPROM. Simply chaining the commands instead of bursting them to the controller fixes this issue. I will push this in the next update once I do some more testing.

    Thanks!

Update: After some more testing I can confirm the issue was bursting the controller. This will be fixed in the upcoming app update.

Nice to know. Because the controller loses settings at every upgrade the backup/restore process is critical. Glad there is a way to resolve the reliability issue. Strange that it is more evident with 2.0.9.

Just about had it with Opensprinkler.

Updated to 2.09 and now cannot login to OS. Set to ignore password, doesn’t matter; wants a password and there is none.

Anyone want to buy my OS hardware cheap?

Sorry to hear about the problem your having.

When you upgrade your firmware, the settings are cleared and the password defaults back to opendoor. The ignore password field is also reset back to default (unchecked).

This is likely your problem. Please let me know if opendoor works for you or if you are continuing to have issues.

Moving forward, we are looking into saving certain settings between firmware changes so these issues don’t occur.

    Thank you!

Strange thing tonight. My iPhone with latest 1.1.8 not seeing any programs on 2.0.9. Direct web and osx client still see them. ??

Is this a persistent problem or transient? In other words, if you kill/reopen the app or just reconnect do they show up again?

No. Killed several times. Haven’t tried reinstalling.

Reinstalling won’t do anything so don’t bother. The iPhone app should be updated to 1.2.0 soon (in review now) but I can’t imagine why they would stop showing up.

I’ll have to get back to you after looking into it. Are you using the same programs from the export you sent me?

    #28101

Yes. Same programs. Restored from osx app this time.

Btw, after trying to disable a program with osx last night and getting password errors, I restarted the osx client app and found programs missing there as well. Restored to get them back, but what killed them?

Not sure I still need to look into it. I won’t be able to until later tonight though. I’ll let you know.
