Hi Ray and the OS Community!

I have an OS DC Latch module and have a few questions regarding my setup:

    1. My pump is controlled by a solid-state relay that is not latching. Can a station output be steady state?
If it is not easily configurable via the OS app (or via firmware configurations), I could have some intermediate logic configure the latch on/off for the SSR, but just wanted to check if there is a way to already do this in OS.

    2. When modifying the OS firmware, is there a way to prevent future firmware updates?
If I end up having to modify the OS firmware, is there a way to prevent future updates from overwriting my configuration? I am thinking of the case where I end up moving and a future home owner would need to use my setup.

Thanks again for the support! I am looking forward to working with this system!

    Regards,

    1. Unfortunately not: all zones on OpenSprinkler Latch must be latching valves or latching relays. It does not support non-latching type.

You can, however, put your pump on a RF power socket, and use OpenSprinkler’s RF station feature to wirelessly toggle the power socket therefore turn on or off the pump. If your pump is 3-phase type, that can be difficult because I haven’t seen any RF power socket that supports 3 phase.

    2. Firmware updates are done manually — you need to upload the new firmware to the controller. It doesn’t update automatically, so I don’t think you need to worry about future firmware updates overwriting your firmware.
