    Hi Ray and others,

I’m new to all of this, so forgive my lack of knowledge. I love the potential of open sprinkler, however I’m still learning how to use it 🙂

I just bought an Open Sprinkler DC controller and I need it to start a small Diaphragm pump (12vDC, 5amp max), then open 3 solenoids at different times for a small vege patch.

Im assuming this pump still requires a pump start relay? If so, will a 12V, 5amp relay work?

The pump generates max 50psi (3.4bar), so I’m hoping it will be enough pressure for a small solenoid to work?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

    Tom

Yes, you will need a pump start relay (because a station on OpenSprinkler DC can only drive a load up to 1 amp max, if your pump requires 5 amp, you will need a relay).

    Thanks ray.

    I’ve got a DPDT 12vDC 10amp relay.

Is a DPDT the correct type of relay i need?

    Cheers

Yes it should work. For your application any of the four types of relays should work:
