After dealing with RainBirds BS for the last 7 years, I started looking for something new. Initially OpenSprinkler seemed to fit the bill; Open hardware, open software, and no cloud requirement.
Only 4 days to receive the unit from MA to FL.
Initially I thought I could use the power transformer I had on hand from a RainBird controller. When I received the OpenSprinkler unit, it had a different connection requirement than the what the RainBird transformer had. So, I emailed support. They were quick to point out, they include an adapter that I had overlooked when opening the package. With the included adapter, I was able to wire everything up with the Rain Bird transformer I had on hand and… everything worked as expected.
I was even able to use my existing Rain Bird enclosure….
I will be keeping an eye on this company as the products AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT are top notch. I will definitely order any and all products they offer that support my needs.
