Software to draw or document pipe layout garden plan?

So I have dug all the pipes in the garden. How do you folks document where the pipe where put? Any software recommendation? I would like to draw a layout plan or “site map” of my garden with the pipes. For the next generation. And sometimes things change or another pipe is added. So I would like to do it with software and not pen and paper.

Any recommendations?

PS I was thinking of using FreeCAD maybe with the Pipe tools (https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Arch_CompPipe) – but this seems totally overkill to be honest.

Hi,
I have 2 maps of my irrigation. One is a general zone overview that was done by taking a top view of the house from the original architect drawings (pdf), marking the heads and connecting all that are on the same zone with a colored marker. I then scanned that so I have it in electronic form.
The other is for cases where I needed to have a more detailed view of the piping, main feeds, and valve box locations. I used the drawing capability of PowerPoint: lines, boxes, notations, etc. I’m very familiar with drawing in this tool so it was an easy choice for me. If you are familiar with a drawing tool that provides these kinds of basic objects, that might be a good place to start.

thanks. I think I will then just use https://www.diagrams.net/ (previously draw.io) which is open source and web based. It has lines and boxes etc. Though, I wished it also had some more specialized symbols for an irrigation plan like sprinklers and valves (though, it seems to have way too special symbols like hydraulic stuff like a “Gate Valve (Spring)”.

But I can “mis-use” some of the symbols for that. Will work for me. Thanks.
