solenoid connection

Hi,
I have purchased an opensprinkler version 2.1. Is it possible to connect two solenoids to one individual station without harming the circuitry? I have 9 solenoids and if I am able to do this it would remove the necessity to add an expansion board. Thanks, Les.

Yes it’s possible to connect two solenoids to the same station port. Each port is rated 800mA continuous current. Typically sprinkler solenoids are rated at 150-250mA continuous current, so it can support two solenoids. Keep in mind that since the two solenoids are wired together, they will always open or close at the same time (i.e. they cannot be controlled independently).
