I had no VBAT. I guess I did not get enough solder on the ground pad for the battery. Re soldered the ground pad (without taking the bat holder off, tricky) but I have VBAT and the clock now holds through a power cycle.

Just finished building one of 2 controllers yesterday, bench tested all night no problems but the clock is not saved through power cycle/outage. Also if you do not use NTP or due to internet outage, where is the option to set the clock?

    1.42u firmware 1.8.3

    Thanks,

    Jerry

I was just about to comment that it’s probably due to unreliable connection of the battery, and saw that you’ve figured it out 🙂
