Just joined the OpenSprinkler folks today and wanted to update firmware of my DC 2.3 model to 2.1.6(2) as there are quite some wrong German language strings in 2.1.6(1) which I hope may be fixed. Also I’d like to update before plugging the device in the garden in a waterproof box. Unfortunately the Firmware Updater’s drivers crash my macOS 10.12 Sierra as soon as I plug in the usb cable.

Is this a known issue? I also filed an issue at the updater’s Github repository.

As I didn’t read any hint about network update in the mentioned 2.1.7 changes I’d also like to ask when this might be added as updating via usb isn’t that comfortable for a device which usually is located a long distance from your computer.

Except for this I really like the device and regret having stuck so long with my Gardena 4040.

Ok, this was amazingly fast solved by ray.
Delete the usbserial.kext from the extensions dir and reinstall the new drivers from https://tzapu.com/ch340-ch341-serial-adapters-macos-sierra/

Thanks for reporting this problem and testing the solution. We will be refreshing the bundled driver in the updater program shortly.
