Could you please point me in the right direction? I really need to get this going, I found some documents and modifications to your code on github and I got the right lcd and i2c adapter delivered today, I just dont know how to put everything together as an image or if I can just find the files and replace them. It is the work done by denisfrench.

All their timers use cell communication, their product is very good but as you mentioned their support is not that great. Support, flexibility and price makes OS in my opinion better than a $3000 timer. I have attached a picture of their lower line timer’s modem.

Ray I will take a picture of the stuff hydropoint uses since that is the best irrigation system I have used with solid communications. I have used weathermatic as well but I really try to stay away if we are going to use flow with the system because their communication really suck. Whenever you are ready to check the dashboards for hydropoint or weathermatic let me know we can both login to my account and I can walk you though the whole thing, communications and flow are what you could benefit the most.

Ray I don’t know if you remember Im the guy that sent you the flow meter/master valve setup. If we can communicate privately I can let you use my login info to my accounts with the most popular irrigation systems where you could see how the flow features work, like I said before I am very interested on these features.

The solution Samer suggest does not work for me since the 3g modem doesn’t have an external antenna, all our timers are installed inside a stainless steel enclosure, once we close the door the modems have no service.

I actually was the first one asking for a solution using cellular and was shut down by Ray telling me that it would be very difficult to get it to work with something like a gprs shield.

Weathermatic, Banyan Water, Hydropoint to list a few are using this technology I wish I knew how. Please let me know if any of you get OS working with cellular, I don’t know if this is any different https://store.particle.io/collections/frontpage to get it to work with OS

If it hasn’t been enabled yet, how hard is it to tie flow to every station and trigger an alarm if high/low flow? as I said before I can provide info on how a lot of the high end manufacturers work with flow.

I am very interested on the flow sensing feature, if you are willing to work on it Ray I can send you a data industrial flow sensor as soon as you let me know. I would also like to see the progress of the E.T based system and I can help with it, I am very knowledgeable with that.

I have not had time to check the watering schedule for open sprinkler but the easiest way to avoid run off is by having lets say 3 or 4 different programs with up to 8 start times. Program a, b, c for different plant types. Let’s say program a (turf) runs 3 times x week with 3 -4 min cycles, starts at 7 pm. Program b runs 1 times per week (shrubs) with 5- 5 min cycles and it runs on the program a day off. We need to figure out soak times, and all the run times need to be adjusted by getting a daily ET update, we need a et reference value that get adjusted according to daily ET provided by a local weather station, there are some free ones on the net.

Im interested on this as well, I work with different commercial controllers and I can give you my input, I can also tell you that the water savings come from adjusting the run time every 24 hrs. according to ET That’s what weathertrak, rainmaster and most use.
