I created the check (indeed it is a hack) just to know if and when the issue happened and to restart the OS service.

Since nobody reported this issue, I was expecting the issue to be related to my setup. (there is a forum topic about my issue)

As I told, I will have a look in my logfile if this is still an issue in my setup.

I had the same issue a few times and created a script to check every 15 minutes if the OS process is running or not and to start if needed.
I will check this evening in the logfile if the process has ben restarted again in the last couple of days.

I will post the script here also.

This issue happend with version 2.1.4 and I don’t know (did not check the logfile) if the problem was solved after the 2.1.5 update.

Any idea about the difference I see between what my OS is reporting and the data on Wunderground?

Running without a reboot is no issue, it is after a reboot the SDCard becomes corrupt (or is corrupt and failes during reboot)

What type of SDCard do you use? I have a Transend Class10 16GB.

Glad to here other people have issues with corrupt Rpi SD cards.

To me it looks a verry unstable device.
I have a Rpi2 with a brand new 16GB class 10 SD Card and sometimes after a simple reboot during a software update (not OS related) it is corrupt.

anybody has a good solution for this problem?

A question about the Weather Diagnostics.

I use the following weather station: http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IVLAAMSG160#history

The site is reporting the following data

    jun 10, 2015
    High
    Temp: 19.1 °C
    Humidity: 94%

    Low
    Temp: 8.7 °C
    Humidity: 50%

    Average
    Temp: 13.9 °C
    Humidity: 80%

    My OS reports:
    Min Humidity: 45%
    Max Humidity: 87%
    Mean Temp: 12.5 °C

Why is the OS showing different data than I find on Wunderground?

Is it also possible to be able to configure not to use the average temp, but the max temperature (or the average daytime temp) because in Belgium we have cold nights, so the average is Always low.
Since the 2.1.5 version I am able to lower the temp impact, so this is already very nice.

After the upgrade I logged on and imported the config from version 2.1.4.
Everything seemed OK, except that I did not see my 2 programs.
After I configured the “Adjustment Method Options” the 2 programs became visible.

Tnx for the update of the Zimmerman parameters.
My first impression seems very promising.

I just noticed that after the update my config was lost, I had to import the backup again.
After the update I needed to configure the Zimmerman parameters before the program became visible.

This was not an issue for me, and I don’t know if it was an issue related to my setup or if it was by design.

    Tnx for the good work.

There is no OpenSprinkler process running, SSH is fully working.

    The config is:

    SSH is working
    The App/Webpage is not working.

When using top, I can’t see the OS process anymore, but I am not sure if it is not running or just not using any resources. This evening I will check if the process is still running or not (I am not at home for the moment)

Can I start OS manually without restarting the Rpi?

I have the problem again, the OSpi was working for 15 days without any issue when I did a reboot.
Now it already stopped 2 times in the last 24 hours.

please advise how I can troubleshoot

Currently the OS is running without issues for 5 days, I keep you informed if there should be problems again.

@Samer: the feature you implemented in 2.1.4 to have a minimum watering time is verry nice, but it would be nicer if we could modify the parameters in the GUI (on a station base).

thanks already for the nice product.

An extra nice feature would be to define the minimum time a station should be active.
If a station has a runtime of 30 minutes and the weather adjusted % is 5%, then it is useless to water for 1,5 minutes.

So if the weather adjusted time is less than the minimum time for a station, the station wont open.

The changes forseen by Samer in version 2.1.5 are a good start. Being able to choose between average or maximum temp/humidity would also be nice.

    @Samer
: any idea about a release date for 2.1.5?

If you have a doorbell in your house, then it is possible you already have a 220V/24V trafo in in your electricity pannel.
My OS is located next to it so I have no need for seperate extra trafo.

Of course you need to be able to place your OS nearby.

Yesterday evening I formatted the SD card, loaded the latest Raspberian image and installed OS again.
I configured a small program (die NOT import old config) To test and after 10 hours, OS stoppen werking. A reboot was needed.

How can I continue To troubleshoot?

I gave a rPI2 with a 16GB SD card. I installed Rasberin without using Noobs.

I see 2.1.4 and this was already the case when I 1st installed the application.
However when I installed a couple of weeks ago, version 2.1.3 was out but for some reason the GIT clone gave me already 2.1.4

I will reïnstall OS and check again.

    tnx for the help

I think the Zimmerman method would be a good start if you could modify parameters for the influzence of humidity, temp and rainfall.
Then you could modify the humidity influence by setting the parameter to 0% if you don’t want to use it.

an extra parameter would be to use max or average temp per day.

having a possibility to take rainfall into account for more than 1 day in the past can be usefull.

    +1 from Belgium.

Humidity doesn’t look relevant to me. Only max temperature and amount of rainfall in previous days (maybe more than 1 day in the past because a couple of days ago it rained 30l and there is currently no need to water 100% even if it did not rain yesterday) + expected rainfall in near future are relevant for me.

in Belgium is a hot day around 20 to 25 degree Celcius. If no rain was fallen in previous days, I schould have 100%, if temp is even more, 150% would be nice.

Currently the controller tells me 18% what is to low.

    thanks.

I will help testing or so if needed. Developping would be possible, but I don’t know how to start with this because I have no experience in open source projects.
