Me too, I recently had to do redo my phone app for this season – somehow No-Ip “lost” track after 8 months of non-use. In studying what i needed to do, i happened to learn that WU at some point re-instated their free api keys for folks that submit their own WX data. I got my new key and thus had the same question as you posted.

I look forward to an official reply, but it looked like they removed the WU key option from the app after this thread got started. Not sure if there is any work being done to put the WU key back in – now that WU folks resumed the free service once again….

just received OS3.0 with newest firmware update and found this thread to see how to get my wx data when no free WU API key could be created.

So, now i copied my Open Weather API key for my personal weather station. Where do I paste it in the menu now that WU API key is blank?

We’ve updated the weather script to automatically use OWM API if no WU key is provided, and WU API if the key is provided.

My closest outdoor electrical outlet to the Hose Bib (silcock) is about 3 feet. I decided the best approach (in my situation) was to extend the valve wires on the orbit valves to reach the box. The next problem of “how” was frustrating because *i* was unable to find any pics, a guide, or a video on the web of the innards of this valve. It seems to be a partially spot welded plastic shell. I chose not to blow $15 finding out and and potentially breaking it. Any links to repairing these valves themselves would be appreciated for future reference.

I decided to extend the wires from the plug to the box. This is a sealed molded plastic shell that seems a “proprietary” shape with an o-ring seal. I don’t have a valve-controller, so i did not know the size of the male pins. First, i “Dremel” split the plug in half along the seam. The picture attached shows the internal wiring with the quick connect spring loaded brass contacts in place. The other photo shows the brass contacts attached to the wires FIO. The small square object on the right is a slidable rubber gasket used to make the plug water tight. The last photo of the empty articulated shell of the plug is attached simply to be comprehensive about the innards FIO.

Cosmacelf: that is the route I am going for an outdoor box for on my OSBee based project.
jeffhaas: i kinda liked getting the GFCI in the box (Orbit) for the extra $10 since i am on the outside wall of the house. Otherwise it is a good price.

Just ordered the Bee yesterday, it solves a problem of running wires to valves on the other side of the house for a 2 valve(zone) drip system off a hose bibb.
Controlling via Blynk was expected – but i was reading this post and see it now should work with the regular OpenSprinkler mobile app now – THANKS!!
