SprinklertronMemberMine reset itself via Watchdog patch over the night some time. Not sure when. I can tell because my Log last run was empty which signifies a reboot.
I suppose this is a good thing. However I suspect reboots may happen during a watering event and I would lose that program until the next run time.
Better than the thing fully locked while I’m on vacation I guess.Current Configuration:
OpenSprinkler 2.0 System Board Design
2.0.7 Firmware
Network directly connected to switch via 8 foot CAT5
Static IP Address
Auto Reconnect On (Will try off again but this did not matter in 2.0.6, still locked)
NTP Sync On (2.0.6 still locked regardless of this setting)
2 Programs
5 Stations
No enhanced features used.1 Watchdog Reset event so far
SprinklertronMemberWooo! 2.0.7 released! Installed. Re-programmed. Crossing fingers! 🙂
SprinklertronMemberUnit finally froze again today. Just takes longer with Auto Reconnect Off. Looking forward to the next firmware release. 🙂
SprinklertronMemberBeen on version 2.0.6 here. It was locking up until I shut off Auto Connect.
When it’s about to get mad and lockup the following happens:
>Inability to get to the website reliably on PC. Page loading was slow. (device reboot fixes temporarily)
>If I made it in to the website the Programs page would not load at all. (device reboot fixes temporarily)
>Gradual degradation of overall site performance until it would just fully lock up. (device reboot fixes temporarily)
>Impossible to access with iPad browser or app. (device reboot fixes temporarily)Perhaps it’s overtaxed with a rogue process or a memory leak until it locks? The slow degradation almost hints to a memory leak.
The IP Stack(or the monitoring code around it) has always been a little strange as the connectivity bars display in the lower right corner would eventually show disconnected(little X) even though it was fine. I was hoping 2.0.6 would fix that. Alas, it did not.
Just foods for thought.

SprinklertronMemberI have confirmed that with a Static IP address assigned and Auto Reconnect turned OFF, the device appears to be more stable. NTP sync does not appear to be part of the issue.
SprinklertronMemberRay,
Thank you for the reply. The unit has been on Static IP since I took it out of the box and set it up last year. So no DHCP here.
Things were awesome until I went from 2.0 to 2.1 (over the Winter) and 2.6 (recently). I did not notice anything until I actually started the system back up in Spring.Ray, I worry about the auto connect feature. I disabled that last weekend and the device actually came back several hours later with a new address in the 192.168.1.X range. Almost like it reset itself or like reconnect “off” means give up and reset the IP stack. Mind you, the device is configured for static IP and my network is not even on that subnet. It’s on 192.168.5.X.
Food for thought. Not sure if it’s relevant or not but I figured it may help us all troubleshoot the issue.
Take care,
Eric
SprinklertronMemberAuto Connect Off, roger that. I will test that next. Thank you for the reply.
SprinklertronMemberWoke up this morning to the device frozen solid and my sprinklers stuck on this time. That was with NTP shut off so that wasnt it. You guys here still experiencing problems?
SprinklertronMemberI have this same problem. I’m using the latest firmware 2.06 in hopes that it would help. It did not, system freezes solid. This all seems to have happened after I went from 2.0 to 2.01. 2.0 was rock solid and never had issues. Although could be coincidence. Perhaps the hardware is failing for me?
I did notice in the new 2.06 that when its frozen a new little arrow shows on the screen in place of the network bars. Buttons are non-responsive. All I can do is reboot.
I have the newer Gen 1, 2.0 unit with the clear cover. Just before the white one.
