Wunderground has been rotting since it was first sold, and the decay has really accelerated since IBM has owned it 🙁 It would be nice to have other data source options for those of us who prefer not to rely on third parties. For instance MCS Sprinklers can work with the output from Weather Display PWS software.

They are handy connectors, I’ll be using them on other projects too.
OK, it was a long and winding road but I got there in the end 🙂 The sprinkler/com connectors can be found inexpensively in small quantities on ebay by searching for “5.08-8P” and “5.08-2P”.
Thanks. It’s an Orbit 57090 which is a discontinued model. The current version is the Orbit 57095 which has a similar volume but is approximately square rather than rectangular and would work equally well. About $30 from amazon/lowes/HD/etc.
A long shot but is it possible you have the same “screw shorting tracks” problem that I had here https://opensprinkler.com/forums/topic/opensprinkler-firmware-2-1-0-beta-major-upgrade/page/5/ ?
Just in case there is any confusion, NTP doesn’t care about time zones, it just delivers Universal Time (UTC). The local device then corrects that to local time based on the location or time zone that has been set. When I want to test if NTP is working on something I will set the last digit of the minutes incorrectly and then see if those correct when the NTP update happens.
I’m in CA too, it’s correct for me but to test I entered 92410 and it’s still OK, see below capture (capture of displayed location added):

I have a well so not a lot of pressure to play with. The Champion definitely does Master first, but I agree it’s the “off” that is pressure critical. Hopefully zero delay will be fine, but if not the workaround will do it so either way it’s all good 🙂
Wrist strength aside, you can’t rely on the solder mask for this, even if it’s OK today it may not be tomorrow.

I should have noticed that during the build but I was doing it from the front of the board with a nut driver. Were there supposed to be insulating washers in the kit, or did I mess up? I can post a pic if that would help.

I re-soldered all the switches to be sure the solder had wicked all the way thru the board.
Nothing has changed:
Hold B3 and power up, normal startup, LCD = Time/date + Detecting USD, Connecting, NTP Syncing
Hold B2 and power up, normal startup, LCD = Time/date + Detecting USD, Connecting, NTP Syncing
Hold B1 and power up, LCD = Reset all? Yes on second line toggles to No with B3 press, back to Yes with B1 press. Nothing else happens, sticks on that same message until power cycled.Yes! I just changed the TZ a couple of times from the gui and confirm that it works now.
I do have some bad news though, holding B3 doesn’t get me into setup options. (I did check the switch with an ohmmeter.)

Ray: The NTP Syncing message is on the LCD for a second or so. I tried it with the network disconnected and it will display that message for way longer so I think the short time must mean it has synced.
Upgraded to 2.1.0 (on win7/64 woohoo!) but TZ setting is not working for me. I tried several locations that all lookup green and display weather OK but the time is still stuck on Boston,MA – I have power cycled it a few times. For instance Sacramento,California works in http://rayshobby.net/scripts/weather.py?loc=Sacramento,California :

but doesn’t set the TZ.
