Thanks for the updates. Curious why you want to run a RPi3 instead of a model A or Pi2. I was lucky to find a Pi Zero and it’s been a flawless brain for the OSPi. I have it connected with a micro USB to Ethernet dongle from Amazon.

Pi3 has a built in chip antenna. Power requirements are 5v @ 2.4A and it’s not as flexible as the earlier models.
I don’t know how much power the OSPi board provides the Pi but it’s probably not close to 2.4A.

EMI from the power regulator under load could play a role in the decreased performance with the onboard antenna as well.

I have one on the way… no ETA yet.
Should work ok if the working power draw is low.

If Ray’s listening, how much power does the OSPi provide? Peak amperage for the Pi3 is 2.5A @ 5V.
I love the Pi Zero for OSPi. Seems as solid as the microcontroller based OS.

I can’t take credit for that. Thingiverse does it for you. I printed one on an XYZ DaVinci 1.0 printer in ABS and it works very well. Someday I want to draft up one specifically for a display-less Pi. For now the OSPi w/ PiZero is working flawlessly and it now has a case to keep it together.

Wish I had seen this earlier this week. I built an OpenSprinkler 1.2u unit years ago and its been in service ever since. I wanted to give the OSPI a shot and found one on EBay with a Pi Zero!

Used Ray’s Pi image from last year and did a sudo apt-get upgrade to get the image to work with the Pi Zero. Works great, although if I didn’t have other Raspberry Pi PCs around the WiFi config would have been much easier with Sakos’ image.

I think I might try this image just for the heck of it.

Ray, I was able to get the x_t file converted to 2 STL files (front and back of the case). Is it OK to post it to Thingiverse?
Printing it now. I’ll see how the case fits before I post it.

    Thanks,
